Matt Frey I Lead Pastor
Matt is a Jewish man who has come to see the profound nature of God in Messiah Jesus. Jesus became Matt’s consuming passion during his undergraduate years at the University of Minnesota. With an enthusiasm for God’s word, he went on to receive his Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary. Before joining Chosen People Ministries, Matt served as the pastor of equipping and community development at Elmwood Church (EFCA) in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. In the fall of 2022, the Lord led him to join Chosen People Ministries as a staff missionary, where he is specifically endeavoring to plant a church community that is seeking to bring Jew and Gentile together under Christ. Matt, his bride Holly, their son Danny, and their daughter Mary Grace currently live in north Minneapolis. Matt is passionate about Bible teaching, especially when it is deeply grounded in its ancient contexts. In his free time, Matt enjoys reading, playing guitar, and spending time with his immediate and extended family.
Zack Melvin I Pastoral Resident
Born and raised in Ohio, Zack lived in Minnesota for nearly the past two decades. While in high school, he came to believe in Jesus as his Savior, and Lord. Since then, he’s tried to best discern the Lord’s calling in his life, as well as his giftings for His service. Along that journey of faith, he’s found that these gifts seem to fit best with something like pastoral ministry. Zack recently received a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. As a pastoral resident at Grafted, he is seeking to use his giftings to best serve this community of Messiah.
